Have an annuary but don’t know where to start?

Do you have an annuary but don’t know where to start?

We understand! Trying to start documenting your life is overwhelming, no matter who you are. But we have some tips to get you off and running without feeling stressed out. We are here. We designed this for you, with you in mind. We are sorry you feel overwhelmed. Here we go!

All of this is covered in more detail on page 17 in the “Getting Started” section of your annuary, but we’ve simplified it even more here.

If you have the Original Edition (dark red/brown) then this is for you. If you are reading this and have a different version, that is still okay, but our page numbers might be a bit different.

Now for this first step, grab a dark marker.

First, write your name in your book a few pages in where is has a dark line and says “The Life & Times of”.

Next, open your book to page 51 and in the upper-right-hand corner, write the year you were born next to “Birth Year.”

Congratulations! You are writing in your annuary!

Next, turn to page 53 and write the year after your birth year).

Next turn the page to 55 and write the year after that. (sensing a pattern?)

Fill out the calendar years (in the upper-right hand corner) all the way to 100. Yeah-yeah, you might not make it, or you might go past this and that is fine. Just fill out the calendar years to 100.

You’ll notice that if you have the book closed, you’ll see our little thumb tabs for each decade of your life. The first tab is 0-10 years old.

Also with the book closed, you’ll notice a full bar on page 34 and 35 which is a quick reference to the “Spark Something” section, which provides prompts to get your memories flowing.

Now switch to a pencil.

Next, open your book to the current year. The page numbers will very. As of this writing, it is 2017. Now, go back one year (2016) and write about that year. You don’t have to start with the crazy U.S presidential election. You don’t have to start with your family, either. What memorable events happened to you in 2016?

Now you can use bullet points, or write in paragraphs, or paste in photos or doodle – it is completely up to you.

If you want to read and be inspired, flip back to page 13. We wrote it for you with you in mind. It is broken up into easy to digest sections, so when you feel overwhelmed just set it down, grab a glass of water, go for a walk and come back.

You can do it! Write to remember!
